As the general of the Gold-thief Army of the "Big Death-Stars", it is a super-heavyweight Digimon whose whole body is clad in steel armor. With its army, which runs the whole gamut of atrocities and looting with Aquatic and Marine Beast Digimon, it plunders treasure wherever it travels across the ocean. It has a weakness for gold and silver treasures, so its collected treasures become Olegmon's entire diet, and it increases the strength of Olegmon's armor if it eats enough. Olegmon boasts the most superhuman strength among the other generals, easily wielding its super-heavyweight "Dual Tomahawk" pair of axes, and effortlessly hurling them with its "Dual Tomahawk Boomerang". If an opponent suffers its "Viking Vuffet", in which it swings the axes down vertically over and over, they'll be chopped to bits in the blink of an eye. Also, Olegmon keeps the gigantic shadow called "Jörmungandr" in the chest on its right shoulder, and the one called "Surtr" in the chest on its left shoulder. Both become fiendish shadows if an opponent is recognized, and "Jörmungandr" on its left shoulder takes them away to "Jötunheimr", which is said to be the end of the world, with "Age of Discovery". Surtr on its left shoulder asks for the opponent's wishes and pretends to grant them with "Dream Comes True", but avoids granting the wish using a convenient interpretation from Olegmon, and if on the other hand the opponent stubbornly refuses the wish, it keeps on doling out attacks.

Olegmon is one of the seven Death Generals. He manipulates Lunamon, Spadamon, Coronamon and later most the Digimon constituting Xros Heart and Blue Flare by chanting his "Gappo, Gapo, Viva Olegna" incantation. Balli Bastemon was able to break them free of his control.

Olegmon is the captain of a pirate crew composed of several Hangyomon and Gawappamon, though he preferred to be called "shogun". He became a pirate after the island he lived in became impossible to live in, taking whatever food they had left. He found Tachikawa Mimi, Kido Joe and the Digimon with them in "Vikemon Ventures the Glaciers", demanding them to surrender their food. After Mimi's (who used Joe as her talkpiece, referring to him as their leader, Captain Joe) refusal, he opened fire on them and the Blimpmon they rode in, which caused Tonosama Gekomon, Gomamon and Joe to fall off the Blimpmon. They were then taken hostage by the pirates, to be used as a bargaining chip for food, despite Olegmon's dislike of such underhanded methods.
After Joe and Gomamon broke free and learned of Olegmon's situation from a Gawappamon, Joe challenged Olegmon to a fight, putting his pride on the line, with the loser becoming the winner's lackey. Olegmon then fought Gomamon as Ikkakumon and Zudomon, keeping an advantage over both of them until he criticized Joe, which caused Zudomon to remember how he's grown stronger alongside Joe and then evolve into Vikemon, who shattered Olegmon's axes and defeated him in a single Arctic Blizzard, causing him to crash against his ship.
After the fight, Olegmon's ship was towed by Blimpmon to an island where his crew could live easily. Afterwards, the crew recognized him as their shogun, with Bancho Mamemon also recognizing him as a bancho.
Olegmon and his crew of Hangyomon and Gawappamon, alongside the Babamon Digimon School students Bancho Mamemon, several Tanemon and Lalamon, and Joe's servants and friends Tonosama Gekomon, Kabukimon, Blossomon, Nanimon, Gekomon and Dondokomon, reacted to the attack of a group of Soundbirdmon in "The Angels' Determination"
After Negamon was finally defeated in "The End of the Adventure", Olegmon and Tonosama Gekomon drank with each other on a ship as Kabukimon, Dondokomon, a Hangyomon and a Gawappamon partied, with a Gekomon, two Nanimon and Blossomon being with them as well.
