Botamon hatched from a Digitama that came from a computer screen in the Yagami household, and was taken care of by Yagami Hikari and Yagami Taichi.

Botamon is the partner Digimon of Yagami Taichi. Appeared in the Koromon Village, and at the end of the series, when its Digitama hatched in Yagami Hikari's hands, right as they were taking a picture.

Appeared in the Village of Beginnings, but Botamon is upset at Ichijouji Ken that he was Digimon Kaiser. Appeared later and became a partner to some of the children who had the Dark Seed.

Digimon Adventure:[edit]
Botamon is the partner Digimon of Yagami Taichi. While Agumon never takes this form during the series, it is briefly shown during the Greymon evolution sequence.
Taichi saved a Botamon from being attacked by a Goburimon in "The Crest of Courage", during Valkyrimon's test. Taichi kept protecting Botamon from further threats, until they were attacked by three Allomon and he was nearly killed for it. At that time, Botamon spawned the Crest of Courage, then evolved into Koromon, Agumon and Greymon, defeated the Allomon, then returned to its previous forms, before fading into the Crest of Courage and into light. This was the proof Valkyrimon needed of Taichi's courage, so he passed the test.
After Negamon was finally defeated in "The End of the Adventure", Muchomon, alongside a Puwamon and an Arbormon who carried several Baby Digimon: a Nyokimon, a Puttimon, a Keemon, a Leafmon, a Bubbmon, a Jyarimon, a Hopmon, a Moonmon, a Poyomon, a Torikara Ballmon, a Relemon, a Pipimon, a Tsubumon, a Pururumon and an Upamon; found a Digitama in the forest, which quickly hatched into a Botamon.

In "A Dream to Evolve", Kodou Ritsu pictured a Botamon when he thought about how he liked Digimon because he was fascinated with the concept of evolution.
Botamon and the other students reappeared in "Kodou Ritsu", after Pal defeated Phelesmon, which meant they could retake their studies once again.

Botamon appears as an obtainable Digimon in Digimon World. Once your Digimon fades away, it will be reborn into one of the four Digitama Jijimon offers to you. If the green-spotted Digitama is chosen, Botamon will hatch out of the Digitama.
A Botamon NPC can be found living in the Village of Beginnings inside Jijimon's house, offering advice to beginners and lecturing on how to take care of your Digimon such as feeding it or bringing it to the Bathroom.
Botamon evolves into Koromon after 6 in-game hours have passed, with no necessary conditions required.

A Botamon NPC lives in the village that serves as the hub area of the game. It is incapable of speech and merely emits sounds.
Botamon is also an obtainable Baby I Level, None Attribute, Land Type Digimon. It can be found in the first dungeon of the game, Mountain Cave.

Botamon is a #021 Digimon and is a Balance-class, Dark-species with a resistance to the Dark element and a weakness to the Light element. Its basic stats are 66 HP, 60 MP, 47 Attack, 32 Defense, 23 Spirit, 29 Speed, and 11 Aptitude. It possesses the Psychic 1 trait.
Botamon evolves into Agumon (Black) or Candmon. In order to degenerate into Botamon, your Digimon must be at least level 3. It can be hatched from the Purple Digitama.
Botamon can jogress into Lopmon with Moonmon.

Botamon is an obtainable Digimon which is hatched from the yellow Digitama, and evolves into Koromon. It can also be obtained as a collectible card. Its card is part of the Cute Children (かわいい子供たち Kawaī Kodomotachi) set.

Takaishi Takeru and Patamon found newly-born Botamon, Punimon and Yuramon in the Village of Beginnings in Episode 17, "Adventure! Patamon and I". Another Botamon was born from the Digitama Takeru rubbed, which angered Elecmon. After Takeru and Elecmon befriended each other, and Elecmon left for the Pyocomon Village in Gear Savannah, the hatched Botamon evolved into Koromon, and was congratulated by everyone for it.
A Botamon, a Punimon and a Yuramon disappeared from the Village of Beginnings in Sub-Episode 7, "Where are the Digimon?", worrying Elecmon and causing him and the Chosen Children to look for them, as they suspected they had been kidnapped. After they found the babies, Elecmon wondered why they went away from the Village of Beginnings if they were safe and not kidnapped. Returning to the Village of Beginnings, Elecmon asked the babies why they left, and they answered that they left because they were practicing a song in secret to thank Elecmon for taking care of them, which was enough to get Elecmon crying. Elecmon then thanked the Chosen Children for their help and gave them a Skill Release DigiPiece, which gives the equipped Digimon the technique of the same name which undoes Skill Seal in one ally. He then told them they could come back to the Village of Beginnings whenever they wanted.
